Now, I’ve never had the problem of having chocolate leftover from Easter, but I have heard that it is actually a thing. Apparently some people look for alternative ways of using up their leftover eggs rather than just eating them normally. It all seems very strange to me, but nevertheless I thought I’d join in and get a little more inventive with my chocolate this Easter time.
Today is a sad, sad day. Creme Egg season has officially come to an end and soon they will exit our shops for another long and lonely nine months. The fact that Creme Eggs are not sold throughout the whole year is something that really does bother me. Who are Cadbury’s to tell me what I can and cannot eat through the year? I mean they’re not even made of real Cadbury’s chocolate any more! Nevertheless, I still love them.
A few days ago I sat down and wrote out a rather lengthy ‘comeback’ blog post for you all to read. I intended to post it explaining why I hadn’t been blogging recently, what I had learnt during my break and what I was planning on posting in the future months. I felt like I had to explain my absence to you all, but then just as I was about to hit publish it suddenly occurred to me that the world probably didn’t care about why I hadn’t been blogging. I mean to be honest, the world probably didn’t even really notice. So I thought to myself, what would people like to read about instead of my life story… and there was only one answer. Chorizo.
The excitement as a child of getting out of bed on Easter Sunday and frantically hunting for chocolate eggs is an excitement that most will remember. My sister and I would run around the house looking for the eggs with our name on and then sit down to feast on a breakfast of chocolate. Easter is the one day of the year that it is totally okay to do this… although, I still try and get away with it most others! I use this blog as a great excuse for eating chocolate for breakfast these days. I mean it is essential that I re-taste that Salted Caramel Pie again from the night before isn’t it?
Pancake day… what an amazing day of the year. A day when you can eat ridiculous amounts of pancakes and not get judged. A day when it is perfectly acceptable to have dessert for dinner and then even more dessert for dessert. A day where it is more than okay to consume a whole jar of Nutella alone, leaving us all wondering… why can’t every day be pancake day? What a beautiful world that would be…
